The Red Rooster All Australian Jamboree was the dream of Sandra Smith on a drive home from a Country Music Festival where very fewAustralian composed songs had been sung. The Jamboree has a great family friendly atmosphere in the old Barn over three days and nights at the Charters Towers Showgrounds, coodinated by the Gold City Country Music Club.

The passing of an old member & friend

Edmund (Taffy) Davies passed away shortly after the 2014 Red Rooster All Australian Jamboree. He had been unwell for a couple of years but he would still be seen at the festival with his oxygen bottle, helping where he could and he still competed in the AAJ in 2014. He loved to sing and he loved his club, the Gold City Country Music Club. In his honour, the Young At Heart Section will be known as the "Edmund (Taffy) Davies Memorial" Young At Heart from 2015. He will be sadly missed but I am sure he is sitting on a cloud singing to all who would listen.
